The student visa is a type of visa issued to international students who wish to study in the United Kingdom. To apply for a student visa, you must have been accepted onto a course at a UK institution that holds a valid Tier 4 Sponsor Licence, and must have enough money to cover your tuition fees and living expenses. You must also meet the English language requirements and provide evidence of your academic qualifications.

There are different types of student visas, depending on the length and level of your course. The standard Tier 4 student visa is valid for the full length of your course, up to a maximum of five years, while the Short-term study visa is valid for up to six months for those undertaking a short course or language course.
